Educational Programs

Over 35 years of Educating the public WildCare’s Terwilliger Nature Education Programs provide Bay Area teachers with environmental education opportunities inspired by the legacy of Elizabeth Terwilliger.

Strengthening environmental stewardship

Mrs. Terwilliger developed an interactive, experiential type of learning that is still at the heart of our education programs today. Our programs aim to strengthen environmental stewardship and responsibility by teaching an appreciation of nature and a respect for wildlife.

WildCare’s education programs support the Next Generation Science Standards and our instructors are glad to incorporate the themes of your class curriculum into our programs whenever possible. Scholarships are available.

Distance Learning Bring WildCare directly to your students through distance learning!

Our educators will lead students through scientific observations and active movements as they meet some of our Wildlife Ambassadors. With a mixture of behind-the-scenes videos and live interactive sessions, this engaging program will delight and inspire students to take action to help wildlife in their neighborhoods.

Schools & Groups Take a virtual nature hike or invite Wildlife ambassadors to your virtual party!

WildCare’s Terwilliger Nature Guides have created three exciting Virtual Nature Hikes to bring the forest and grassland habitats to your students during distance learning or have our educator showcase the animals’ amazing adaptations, share what they eat, threats they face in the wild and more.
