Educational Programs

Over 35 years of Educating the public WildCare’s Terwilliger Nature Education Programs provide Bay Area teachers with environmental education opportunities inspired by the legacy of Elizabeth Terwilliger.

Strengthening environmental stewardship

Mrs. Terwilliger developed an interactive, experiential type of learning that is still at the heart of our education programs today. Our programs aim to strengthen environmental stewardship and responsibility by teaching an appreciation of nature and a respect for wildlife.

WildCare’s education programs support the Next Generation Science Standards and our instructors are glad to incorporate the themes of your class curriculum into our programs whenever possible. Scholarships are available.

Nature Education for Schools & Groups

WildCare offers an array of environmental education opportunities—in your classroom and out in nature!

Schedule a Wildlife Ambassador Program and have three of our non-releasable wild animals come to your classroom, have our Nature Van full of touchable taxidermy and biofacts visit your school, or take your class on a Nature Hike led by Terwilliger Nature Guides.
