Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our #GivingTuesday Match goal!
WildCare couldn't be here to help wildlife, educate the next generation and advocate for animals and the environment without your incredibly generous support. Thank you for making this the MOST successful #GivingTuesday ever!
And even more good news... two generous donors, Maureen Groper and Julie Kaye were so thrilled by our #GivingTuesday results, that they have stepped forward with a new $10,000 Match to extend our #GivingTuesday success one more day!
Give by midnight on Wednesday, December 1, and your gift will still be MATCHED! Click to donate now!
The orphaned baby squirrel in this video just opened her eyes yesterday, meaning she is only four weeks old. This is the latest-ever baby squirrel we have ever admitted to the Wildlife Hospital!
This little squirrel fell when tree-trimmers cut down her nest. We recommend people wait until November/December to do non-emergency tree work, but she proves that, even this time of year, you need to look carefully for nests and watch for baby animals!
She broke her tail when she fell, and we needed to amputate the injured section of the tail, leaving our baby squirrel with a very stubby tail. Fortunately we live in a temperate climate, so a short-tailed squirrel should be able to survive without problems.

You know how much I care about the organization WildCare! Their work to help injured and orphaned wild animals, as well as everything they do to advocate for wildlife and educate the next generation to care for the environment makes a real difference.
With 2021 coming to a close, WildCare let me know that they are looking forward to participating in Giving Tuesday, which falls on November 30th this year.
Giving Tuesday offers WildCare the opportunity to raise funds to help them continue their important work of helping local wildlife. Giving Tuesday is a chance for people to take a step back from the stresses of holiday consumerism and focus on impacting and promoting nonprofits they care about.
With a $25,000 Matching Gift Challenge, WildCare has set their fundraising goal at $50,000 for that day. I would love for you to join me in getting WildCare’s Giving Tuesday campaign off to a strong start this year!
If you are able to spread the WildCare love this holiday season, here is the link to social media posts and profile images that you can send out to friends, family, and colleagues who care about wildlife, conservation, and impacting our local community.
WildCare suggests people change their social profile photos to one of their "I love WildCare" graphics on that page, and to post those images on social media. Sample text for posts and emails are also provided for ease of sharing.
Together, we can help preserve, protect, and heal wildlife!
