Summer has been all about the details that make a hospital work, education function well, and our new home feel welcoming. Our new ambassador enclosures, custom-fabricated by Corners Limited, have moved through production and installation, with installation having been completed in early August . We’re designing spaces that go beyond functional habitats built to engage natural behaviors and give our education ambassadors room to explore, climb, forage, and just be wild. Next week we start the enrichment work ensuring our ambassador animals have spaces that reflect their natural habitats.

Inside, our hospital is also taking shape, giving our wildlife patients the safe, species-appropriate spaces and world-class medical care they need to heal and recover. Meanwhile, solar installation is sequencing alongside final electrical work, bringing us closer to a facility that’s sustainable and a model for environmental stewardship in our community.

As the big move gets closer, our team is also turning attention to the details that make a space feel like home: interior finishes, signage, and landscaping are all underway, and we’re beginning to plan staff and volunteer move-in logistics for the months ahead.

Behind the scenes, Cahill Construction is deep into finishing mode: inspections and coordination across all trades to ensure Albert Park is ready to open its doors later this fall. Every week brings us closer to celebrating together.
