Volunteer with our Wildlife Ambassadors
WildCare is actively recruiting Wildlife Ambassador Program Volunteers! Interested individuals should submit an application today!
We will review applications and contact qualified individuals to attend an in-person orientation at WildCare. After that, further qualified candidates will complete an interview, and those chosen to join the Wildlife Ambassador Program will begin training to care for our nonreleaseable animals.
This volunteer opportunity is for volunteers ages 18 and older.
WildCare is home to 14 educational wildlife. These animals can no longer survive in the wild and now serve as ambassadors for their species, educating thousands of Bay Area children and adults each year.
They require daily feeding, care, enrichment, and training to provide them the best life possible.
Ambassador volunteers help care for our animal ambassadors and are able to provide valuable educational messages to the public on a daily basis. They also may have the opportunity to learn handling techniques, including manning raptors and positive reinforcement training techniques.
Ambassador volunteers will be asked to participate in daily animal presentations, school programs, day camps, center tours, and special events.
The minimum commitment is a one four-hour shift per week. Ongoing training is required. We accept a limited number of Wildlife Ambassador Volunteers.
