A NIGHT TO CELEBRATE WILDNESS

The WildCare Gala on Saturday, September 6th was a phenomenal success! Generous WildCare supporters came together at the beautiful Bill & Adele Jonas Center in Novato to celebrate WildCare and wildlife. The evening was a true celebration of our shared dedication to wildlife and the environment.

The event began with conversations and close encounters with Wildlife Ambassadors on the oak-shaded patio, setting the tone for a night where advocacy and heartfelt connection came together.

Linda Stiles, Vice President of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Elevate WildCare capital campaign, was honored.  Her leadership has been pivotal in advancing WildCare’s vision for a new state-of-the-art facility.

Guests were also captivated by New York Times bestselling author Amy Tan, who shared personal stories of helping injured birds through WildCare and reflected on the joy of coexisting with wildlife.

AN EVENTFUL COMMUNITY GATHERING

Highlights of the evening included McCalls’ elegant plant-based dinner-featuring roasted squash with poached apple and savory quinoa croquettes-and a moving moment when three tiny baby squirrels, eyes still sealed shut, were given their evening meal from the stage.

The celebration was made possible through the generosity of presenting sponsor Saga Perry, whose enduring support exemplifies the community’s dedication to wildlife.

Steadfast friends Charan and Sylvia Singh also lent their support, joining in a gala that raised essential funds to sustain WildCare’s Wildlife Hospital, advocacy initiatives, and Terwilliger Nature Education programs, which each year provide medical care to more than 3,500 wild animals and engage over 13,000 children and adults in learning to live well with wildlife.

"In Wildness Lies the Hope of the World"

Watch “In Wildness Lies the Hope of the World” that premiered at the 2025 WildCare Gala. This gorgeous short film, featuring acclaimed author Amy Tan, is a celebration of WildCare’s work, and it offers heartwarming insight into the interconnectedness of ecosystems and the value of wildlife and wild lands.

Special thanks to filmmaker Linda Stiles who created this inspiring piece!
