emergency WILDLIFE MEDICINE & rehabilitation

Our Wildlife Hospital cares for approximately 3,500 wild animals a year, from more than 180 different species. We provide ongoing care for our patients seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

OUR GOAL is to restore our wild patients to full health so that they may be released safely back to their natural habitats.

COMPREHENSIVE, EXPERT CARE

Highly experienced Wildlife Hospital staff and volunteers provide comprehensive diagnoses and treatments for our patients utilizing x-rays, blood work and more. WildCare’s staff veterinarian guides treatments and protocols, and ensures that WildCare’s wildlife patients receive the best possible care.

VOLUNTEER, LEARN, GIVE BACK

Join over 200 active volunteers on our Wildlife Hospital volunteer team and help us rehabilitate patients for release.

Our volunteers provide the majority of feeding, cleaning and care for all our patients including mammals, water birds, raptors, reptiles, and hundreds of songbirds. Volunteers in our wildlife rehabilitation hospital learn species identification, proper handling, hygiene and safety precautions, physical therapy regimens and hand feeding techniques.

HELP GIVE WILDLIFE A SECOND CHANCE

The Wildlife Hospital sees thousands of wild animals from over 180 species a year. All of our patients have their own specific dietary requirements to ensure that they are ready and able to fend for themselves when released. Combined with medications and hospital equipment, we rack up some hefty grocery and extra bills as a result!

Help ensure the continued care of all our wildlife patients by lending your support for the Wildlife Hospital!

“A DAY IN THE LIFE OF WILDCARE”

Go behind the scenes at WildCare’s Wildlife Hospital and follow our veterinarian Dr Juliana Sorem, hospital staff and volunteers as they go about their day from dawn till dusk, healing, rehabilitating and releasing animals back to the wild.

Video footage shot in the summer of 2023 and premiered at the WildCare Gala in fall of the same year.
